Basic Defensive Handgun

Prerequisite Class: None

Upon completion of this course you will have a fundamental understanding of the defensive use of the handgun. Among the many skills you acquire will be the ability to safely and easily draw your weapon from the holster and rapidly fire two, sighted shots to the center of a target at varying distances.

  • Trigger Control
  • Presentation from Ready and Holster
  • Target Engagement from varying distances
  • Malfunction Clearing
  • Emergency and Tactical Reloading

Equipment Needed:

  • Electronic Hearing Protection – mandatory
  • Eye Protection
  • Ball Cap
  • 3 magazines - at least
  • Semi-auto pistol of at least .380 caliber
  • Rigid holster fixed to your side by belt or paddle
  • Sturdy belt to hold up your pants and your holster!
  • 200 rounds of ammunition
  • Magazine pouch if you have it
  • Magazine loader if you have it

Intermediate Defensive Handgun

Prerequisites – Defensive Handgun

Introduction – The course presents a combination of techniques which are taught to students in our Defensive Handgun and Tactical Handgun Classes. This course provides you with the basic skills needed to help build your confidence with your handgun whether you are using it for defensive or just for fun.

We will be using turning targets in many of the exercises to introduce the student to stress under fire to simulate more of a real world situation.

Advanced Tactical Handgun

Prerequisite – Defensive Handgun and Intermediate Handgun (Or an equivalent CRA pre-approved course – Call us and visit about it)

This course allows the participant to learn or refine tactical combat skills in a small group environment on the range. Due to the nature of the material presented and put into practice, these classes are extremely limited in regards to size.
